Our Human Rights Due Diligence programme is guided by the United Nations Guiding Principles (UNGP) on Business and Human Rights. We take into account the principles and how it translates into practice, in a way that is relevant to our business.

We began our programme in 2016 and have since identified salient issues in our operations in Malaysia and Indonesia. Our phased approach takes into consideration the likelihood of issues occurring, the severity of the impact on people and the landscape we operate in.

We also monitor salient issues that are prevalent within the oil palm industry to understand areas where a more industry-wide approach to mitigation is required.

Our human rights heat map helps us prioritise risks based on their severity and likelihood. This assessment supports our dialogue with estate managers in prioritising and addressing issues in our plantations.
