Sustainability Certification

We are committed to ensuring all our operations follow good agricultural and best management practices by implementing sustainability standards. These include international standards such as the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and Rainforest Alliance (RA), as well as nationally mandated standards such as the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) in the countries where we operate.


Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil(RSPO) Certification

SDP is a founding member of the RSPO and is actively involved in a wide range of RSPO taskforces and working groups. We are committed to the RSPO certification process and are adherent to all RSPO requirements.
 
  • SDP's Upstream operations are 100% RSPO certified
  • SDP's  Downstream Supply Chain is 100% RSPO certified

Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Certification

As at March 2018, SDP achieved 100% MSPO certification for its Malaysian estates and mills, ahead of the December 2018 deadline set by the government. This was made possible by proactive measures undertaken such as in-house training and active engagement with all stakeholders.

  • SDP's Supply Chain for Refineries are 100% MSPO certified

Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) Certification

Introduced in 2011, ISPO is Indonesia's national certification scheme, SDP has achieved 100% ISPO certification for its Indonesian mills and continue to strive for our estates, managed smallholders lands and plasma smallholder plots.

Sustainable Agriculture Network & Rainforest Alliance

Our West New Britain operations in PNG were first audited against the 2010 SAN Standards in November 2016 and achieved certification on 13 March 2017 We continue to work  with the Rainforest Alliance for full certification, including our smallholders.
