Biodiversity Conservation
Sime Darby Plantation abides by the Environment and Biodiversity Policy where the company is committed to protecting the environment and enhancing employee and community awareness in this aspect. Sime Darby Plantation complies with the rules and regulations provided for adequate buffer zones, river reserves and the maintenance of wildlife reserves adjacent to planted areas. We strictly adhere to both national and RSPO guidelines on biodiversity conservation by carrying out High Conservation Value (HCV) assessments in our areas of operation.

We have also embarked on biodiversity restoration projects and actively support the efforts of Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD), our philanthropic arm, in biodiversity-related CSR efforts.

Visit the Yayasan Sime Darby Website for more information on YSD projects.

Environmental Conservation
Sime Darby Plantation’s initiatives to develop sustainable futures go beyond the boundaries of its operations because the company believes that the sustainability of its businesses is interdependent with the sustainability of the ecosystem surrounding its operations. It is our policy to always maintain ethical and transparent business practices in our effort to create a sustainable palm oil industry.

This includes supporting and promoting initiatives to protect and preserve the ecosystem, protecting and restoring waterways to their natural state, conserving forests, protecting animals, promoting biodiversity, among others.

Priority is given especially to vulnerable and endangered animals and preserving forest reserves particularly in and around Sime Darby's areas of operations. Through sponsorships via Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD), these initiatives are also extended beyond Sime Darby's operationsby commissioning and supporting long-term research and wildlife protection projects.
