Norzilah Megawati Abdul Rahman, 58, a Malaysian, was appointed as the Group Secretary on 1 December 2017. She was the Group Secretary of Sime Darby Berhad (SDB), a conglomerate comprising five key businesses namely Plantation, Industrial Equipment, Motors, Property and Logistics. Following the completion of the Pure Play exercise on 30 November 2017, she assumed the role of Group Secretary of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, the world’s largest oil palm plantation company by oil palm planted area. As the Group Secretary, Puan Norzilah leads the Group Corporate Secretarial function and advises the Board of Directors on matters pertaining to corporate governance and regulatory compliance in the Sime Darby Plantation Berhad Group.
 
Puan Norzilah joined Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad (KGB) in 1994 as Manager, Group Chief Executive’s Office and was subsequently promoted to Controller, Corporate Business Development and Monitoring in 1996, and thereafter appointed as Director, Corporate Business Development and Human Resource in 2001. Puan Norzilah was the Head, Group Legal & Compliance of KGB prior to her appointment as the Group Secretary of SDB on 29 September 2007. She has also served as an Executive in many areas, among others, investment analysis, money market trading, corporate secretarial and legal as well as a Manager in the Group Chief Executive’s Office in Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

Puan Norzilah holds a degree in Law from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar and is a licensed Company Secretary.
