Carey Island, Selangor, 4 June 2018 – Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Rusdi Kirana today spent the evening breaking fast with about 200 Indonesian workers employed by Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (SD Plantation). The event, held at Sime Darby Plantation Academy in Carey Island, was part of the Ambassador’s initiative to meet with migrant Indonesian workers in Malaysia and to engage with them.

Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (SD Plantation) has made it to the Securities Commission’s (SC) Shariah compliant list amongst 17 newly added stocks to the list.   SD Plantation is now one of the 693 Shariah compliant stocks on Bursa Securities. We join 34 other plantation companies currently on the list.

The 10th Global Child Forum 2018 was held on 11 April 2018 at the Stockholm Royal Palace, Sweden. 300 participants representing global companies, financial institutions, civil societies, the United Nations, academia and governments from around the world were present at the event to discuss child rights issues. The event was officiated by H.M. King Carl Gustaf XVI and ended with a speech by H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria on the UN’s 17 global goals. Participants of the event were also urged to sign the Global Child Forum’s PACT Pledge, aimed at advancing children’s rights and business.
