Sime Darby Plantation has joined the ranks of companies like the Alibaba Group, Agency for Science, Technology and Research Singapore and many other multinational technology companies when we were included in Asia IP Elite 2018. Asia IP Elite is a select club featuring what is believed to be the region’s Intellectual Property (IP) value creation trailblazers. The award was accepted by our Chief Research Officer, Dr Harikrishna Kulaveerasingham, at Asia IP Elite Dinner on 3 December 2018, held during the IPBC Asia conference from 2 - 4 December in Shanghai, China.

Sime Darby Plantation made history, winning the Best Sustainable Palm Oil Leader award at the Europa Awards for Sustainability 2018, beating other great names in the industry. Organised by EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI), the Awards were presented to its winners at a Gala dinner and Award ceremony held at Four Seasons Hotel, Kuala Lumpur witnessed by the Malaysian Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change, Yeo Bee Yin and EU ambassador and Head of Delegation to Malaysia, María Castillo Fernández.

Chew Chien Lye won the Young Industrialist Award at the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Malaysia Awards on 15 October 2018. The ceremony, which took place at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, is held annually to celebrate the achievements of chemical engineers in Malaysia.

Sime Darby Plantation bagged three awards at the recent Oils And Fats International Congress (OFIC) 2018, a testament to our outstanding performance in the palm oil industry.   Heading the list of award recipient from Sime Darby Plantation was Chief Advisor & Value Officer (CAVO), Datuk Franki Anthony Dass, who was conferred the Honorary Fellow 2018, for his many contributions to the industry.

Citi Research is retaining Sime Darby Plantation as its top pick among the Malaysian plantation companies with a target price of RM6.29. It believes investors should place a premium on Sime Darby Plantation’s growth prospects, through effective execution on replanting initiatives to lower the average age of palm trees, and also its potential to pay higher dividends with lower capex spend.
